Rory MacKenzie
Principle Adviser
Rory has had more than 20 years’ experience as a self-employed financial planner, he established Prom Country Financial Planning Pty Ltd in 2003, and grew the business through purely organic growth until 2008, when he acquired a Gippsland client register.
His previous background was that as a partner in an accountancy business in South Gippsland for 5 years, he first became partner at the age of 25. This accountancy firm’s speciality, was farming and self-employed business clients. As the principal adviser, Rory’s core business is looking after the risk insurance needs of medical professionals and self-employed business clients
Rory holds a Bachelor of Commerce and a Diploma of Financial Services (Financial Planning), is highly regarded in the financial planning industry.
Away from work Rory is passionate about fishing, the wine industry, Geelong Football Club and of course his wife Joanne and his two boys.

Jo O’Connor
Insurance & Claims Manager
Jo joined our team in February 2019, having previously worked at a local newspaper. Jo brings with her over 20 years of administrative experience with her background being in hospitality, bookkeeping & Accounts Management in the construction industry. Jo and her family relocated to Tasmania for 7 years where they managed their own window furnishing business before returning to South Gippsland.
Outside of work Jo enjoys spending time with her three gorgeous grandkids, family and their love of Musical Theatre
Molly Hocking
Client Manager
Molly joined the team in June 2019 and has an Administrative and Tourism/Hospitality background. Molly holds a Diploma of Resort Management, Certificate 4 in Training and Assessment and enjoys working with people in her community as well as focusing on providing excellent customer service and experience.
Molly has recently relocated back to her home of the Bass Coast after living interstate for several years where she was a SCUBA Instructor on the Great Barrier Reef.
Outside of work, Molly enjoys spending time with her friends and family and loves all things water sports. She is passionate about Environmental Conservation with a special interest in keeping our oceans healthy. Molly has recently returned to work after 12 months maternity leave.
Alliza Miel
Client Services
Alliza joined our team in July 2021. She is currently studying a Bachelor of Commerce (Finance and Accounting) Alliza previously worked as a vocal teacher in local primary and secondary schools. She has also worked as an administrative and customer service officer in local government.
Outside of work, you may have seen Alliza on stage cast in lead roles for Wonthaggi Theatrical Group, formerly as Eponine in their 50th-anniversary production of Les Miserables (2019). She also cherishes spending quality time with friends and family and going on summit hikes.
Marlou Sy
Client Services
Marlou joined our team in July 2024.
Marlou holds a degree in Business Administration with a major in Financial Management and has passed the public service examination in the Philippines. Her journey in the financial sector began with her on-the-job training at the Bureau of Internal Revenue, the counterpart to the ATO in her home country, where she gained valuable experience in financial operations.
Her first professional role was at the Professional Licensing Authority, where she spent a year in frontline services. She then moved to the Department of Infrastructure, where she worked in the Accounting Section for five years.
In her personal time, Marlou enjoys a quieter lifestyle. She’s not much of an outdoor type, so she usually spends her weekends at home.
Natahl Thomason
Administrative Associate
Natahl joined our team in October 2024.
Natahl has recently completed a Diploma of Financial Planning. Natahl previously worked as a midwife unit manager within a metropolitan maternity hospital, specialising in vulnerable populations.
Prior to becoming a midwife, Natahl worked as a geologist, primarily in soil remediation and groundwater management.
Outside of work, Natahl enjoys camping with her young daughter, horse riding, and knitting. She is working on a permaculture food forest at home and is passionate about sustainability.
